    Summer Camp Counselors Needed | Worth Township


    Worth Township is now accepting applications for Summer Camp Counselors for our 2024 Day Camp Program. We will accept applications until all positions are filled.

    Camp runs from June 24th, 2024 - August 2nd, 2024.
    Monday - Friday 9 AM - 3 PM

    Applicants must be 17 years or older. Must be able to work all six (6) weeks of camp (8:30am – 3:30pm). Also, must be flexible as some field trips may an earlier drop off or later pick-up for our campers. Along with staff training days – June 12th & 13th, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm for training for certification of American Red Cross first aid & CPR, along with Township policies and procedures.  If you have a family vacation planned during our six-week, please do not apply.

    • Must possess a current valid driver’s license or state ID along with a social security card and pass a background check
    • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
    • Must be honest, dependable, prompt respectful, energetic, positive, and able to follow directions from all Supervisors
    • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
    • Must be a positive role model

      YOUTH COMMISSON VOLLEYBALL REFEREE NEEDED

      Under the direct supervision of the Youth Commission Director and League Coordinator, the volleyball referee is responsible for insuring a positive experience for participants, coaches, spectators and coworkers.

      Qualifications:
      The volleyball referees must be at least 16 years of age, have knowledge of all aspects of the rules and hand signals of the game. Must have excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner. Must be able to multi-task.

      Duties and Responsibilities:
      1. Ensures a positive experience
      2. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of volleyball rules and policies
      3. Enforces all rules during games
      4. Officiates volleyball games in a fair manner
      5. Interacts with players, coaches, parents, spectators and coworkers in a respectful,
      cooperative manner
      6. Responsible of all positions
      • Scorekeeper
      • Line Judge
      • Up Referee
      • Libero Tracking
      7. Must have knowledge of IHSA rules.
      8. Adheres to Worth Township policies and procedures

      Must be available weekdays (Monday through Thursday) beginning at 3:30pm – End time varies per schedule (no later than 10:00pm)

      PART-TIME THERAPIST NEEDED

      Join our growing team of talented professionals, all part-time therapists.  Housed within the Worth Township offices, the Youth Service Bureau offers counseling services to children, adolescents, and families from the surrounding community with varying types of social, emotional and mental health needs.

      The ideal therapist candidate would possess the following:

      • A strong therapeutic knowledge base
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Ability to work with a broad range of client issues and challenges

      The therapist candidate would also be expected to maintain case files and consult with other community entities, as directly related to servicing the client.  Further, any candidate must demonstrate personal motivation, integrity and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

      This part-time position is open for afternoon/evening hours, Monday through Thursday with a maximum of 10 hours per week. Hourly wages are paid as an independent contractor @ a rate of $36/Hr. The therapist would have flexibility in arranging his/her schedule. Currently, we are using the Telehealth Platform for the time being to follow state COVID-19 guidelines.

      Qualifications: Advanced degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Psychology AND hold the appropriate licensure for your degree.

      HIGHWAY CREW – FULL-TIME
      Annual Salary:
      $50,000 plus benefits

      WORTH TOWNSHIP HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

      Job Description:
      Under the direct supervision of the Worth Township Highway Department Foreman and the Township Manager, this position is responsible for garage and highway operations.

      Qualifications:
      The ideal candidate must be able to drive and operate all power equipment including but not limited to: truck, front end loader, backhoe, chipper, riding lawnmower, string trimmer, jackhammers, street sweeper, skid steer loader, roller, air compressor, compactors, water pump and gas-powered tools such as chain saw, lawnmower and hole digger. Must be willing to submit to and pass both a random and scheduled drug and/or alcohol test. Must have a CDL license. Flexibility and the ability to be a team player are a must.

      Duties and Responsibilities:
      Work branch pick-up program, operate chipper.
      Plow and salt streets.
      Assist on curb repairs.
      Assume janitorial duties of garage and grounds.
      Maintain oil and fluids in vehicles.
      Load and unload trucks with machinery or by hand.
      Perform all aspects of removing and reinstalling asphalt patching and street repaving.
      Make emergency decisions to maintain the safety of equipment if supervision is unavailable.
      Be on call 24 hours a day for snow plowing and to address situations that may arise regarding the safety of the roads.
      Comply with all safety rules.
      Painting on streets and buildings as assigned.
      Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Township Manager and/or Foreman.
